General Qualifications for Residential Rebate programs

General qualifications for PSE single family existing customers (including manufactured homes and Efficiency Boost, excluding midstream rebates):

  • Must be a current PSE single family residential customer. Single family new construction, multi-family (5 or more attached units), and commercial accounts are not eligible.

  • Rebate application must be submitted within 30 days of installation.

  • Qualifying equipment must be installed in PSE’s electric or natural gas service territory.

  • Rebates only available on new, qualifying equipment.

  • Must install to comply with federal, state and local code requirements.

  • Cannot be combined with other rebates including PSE’s Low Income Weatherization program.

  • Equipment that is replaced under warranty is not eligible for a rebate.

  • One home heating rebate and one water heating rebate per qualified single-family residence.

  • Rebate cannot exceed the pre-tax purchase price of any rebate product.

Manufactured home and mobile home: factory built dwelling that includes: (a) plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical systems, normally contained within the belly of the structure and within a rodent barrier; (b) is built on a permanent chassis; (c) can be transported in one or more sections; (d) may, or may not be permanently affixed to a concrete foundation.

  • Unducted units must be installed within an unconditioned space, such as a garage or unconditioned basement or storage room.
  • Ducted units must have exhaust air ducted to the outside.
  • No Resistance/Split-Systems must meet PSE Rebate Requirements.
  • Rebates only available on new, qualifying equipment.
  • Your heat pump must run on electricity.
  • You must be replacing an existing electric resistance .

Commercial Connected Thermostats

$200

You must be a PSE commercial electric customer replacing a thermostat that is not capable of connecting to the internet.

The systems controlled must serve a single zone and have their own supply fan.

Customers with Building Management Systems or Building Automation Systems are not eligible.

Residential metered customers are not eligible. Please visit our residential thermostats page for other options.

Hotel and motel customers are not eligible for this rebate. Please visit PSE’s occupancy-based thermostat rebate page for more information.

Your commercial connected thermostat must be listed on the Qualified Products List and be programmed to the following specifications:

Unoccupied temperature setback

Fan schedule set to auto mode for unoccupied hours Override duration limited to 3 hours or less

Heat pumps must have resistance heat lockout enabled

Additionally, the rebate cannot exceed the pre-tax purchase price of the thermostat.

Windows

Up to $20 / sq ft.

Must be a PSE commercial electric or dual-fuel customer. The fuel source for your heating must be supplied by PSE. Natural-gas-only customers do not qualify.

Current windows must be either single-pane (any frame) or double-pane (metal frame). Applies to existing commercial buildings only. Residential, multifamily and new construction are not eligible.

Your rebate application must be submitted within 60 days of installation.

Must include pictures of NFRC stickers or packing slip proving the U-factor for every new window installed.

Must include pictures of pre-existing windows.

Must be installed by a contractor. You may use any contractor you like.

You will need pictures of your paid invoice and/or purchase receipt for your installed product. They must include an installation date, the measurement and type of each window installed, as well as the total cost and total number of windows installed.

This rebate is only for new windows installed after Sept. 1, 2023.

Must submit completed W-9 with application.

Rebate cannot exceed the pre-tax purchase price of any rebated product.

Insulation

$0.75-$1.50/sq ft.

Must be a PSE commercial electric or dual-fuel customer. The fuel source for your heating must be supplied by PSE. Natural-gas-only customers do not qualify.

Current insulation must have an R-value of ≤ 5.

Must be installed by a contractor. You may use any contractor you like.

Does not include floor, crawl-space or roof insulation.

Applies to existing commercial buildings only. Residential, multifamily and new construction are not eligible

Your rebate application must be submitted within 60 days of installation. Must include pictures of pre-existing insulation and post-install insulation.

You will need pictures of your paid invoice and/or purchase receipt for your installed product. They must include an installation date, R-value installed, total square footage of insulation installed, and amount paid.

This rebate is only for new insulation installed after Sept. 1, 2023.

Must submit completed W-9 with application.

Rebate cannot exceed the pre-tax purchase price of any rebated product. Installation must comply with all federal, state and local code requirements. Products that are replaced under warranty will not be eligible for second rebate.

Ductless Heat Pumps

$1,000

You must be a current PSE commercial electric customer.

Your primary and current heating system must be electric resistance to qualify. This includes: baseboard, cable, wall heater, electric hydronic, and electric furnaces.

Hotel and motel customers upgrading to packaged terminal ductless heat pumps (PTHP) are not eligible for this rebate. Please visit PSE’s PTHP rebate page for more information.

Your rebate application must be submitted within 60 days of equipment installation. Must include picture(s) of previous electric resistance heating system with application.

You will need an electronic image of your paid installation invoice and purchase receipt for your installed product(s). They must include: an installation date, brand, model number(s) of all rebated equipment (include the ductless heat pump, air handler and/or coil model number on the invoice), and amount paid.

This rebate is only available on new, qualifying equipment.

Must submit completed W-9 with packet.

Rebate cannot exceed the pre-tax purchase price of any rebated product.

Small Commercial Rebates

Advanced Rooftop Controls

$500-$4,500

To be eligible for PSE’s ARC retrofit incentives:

Your heating fuel may be electric or gas, but you must be a PSE electric customer. Your rebate application must be submitted within 60 days of equipment installation. Your rebate application must include a rebate form, a final invoice that includes itemized

ARC equipment, a W9 tax form, and proof of ARC installation (pictures of ARC device and condenser data plate).

The existing RTU must have the following characteristics: Be packaged unitary equipment (no split systems).

Have greater than five tons of cooling capacity, except for ARC Single Phase equipment.

Constant speed supply fan (RTUs with variable speed fans are not eligible).

Less than or equal to 20 years old and in good working order.

When planning your ARC retrofit, please verify that you’re using a qualifying product that is eligible for an incentive.

Qualifying products must have the following components for each incentive category: ARC-FULL:

A VFD and controller for variable speed fan operation, or a multispeed motor and controller for multispeed

fan operation, A controller with digital, integrated economizer controls, and Demand Control Ventilation based on CO2 sensor readings.

ARC-LITE: A VFD and controller for variable speed fan operation, or a multispeed motor and controller for multispeed fan operation.

ARC-SINGLE PHASE: An ECM motor or VFD and controller for variable speed fan operation.
